Minion Configuration File Precedence

Problem

Settings in the configuration file /etc/salt/minion are being overwritten.

Solution

If both of the following files have been configured:

/etc/salt/minion.d/minion.conf
/etc/salt/minion

minion.d will overwrite any conflicting keys in minion
